I hate the to-do list.

Howdy,
So I have re-discovered that to-do lists and I are not friends. Instead of working on the list today I decided to do something with the plaids I got at the quilt show. In my head it was maybe going to be a Tenille quilt. However, after I started sewing the squares together they told me that they were actually Ken plaids. So, here's the quilt, maybe it can be for Sharen and Ken's anniversary in June?

Check Another One Off the To Do List!!

Hey ... One more done!!
I put a solid yellow from the Hometown line on the back. The red binding is great ... it frames it well. I love this fabric line a lot. I think I'm going to purchase a bit more just so I have it on hand! I have 2 quilts and 2 pillows made out of it. Maybe I should just focus on getting enough for the bag that I want to make!!!

Enjoy

P.S. I can't believe how much blogging we've done already this year!! Good for us!!

Here's a close up of the hand quilting that was done.

What I've been up to

Howdy,
So here's some pics of what I've been up to. You'll notice that only one is boyish. I'm having trouble making boy stuff when I have such cute girl fabric. The completed blue-green one went to my E.A.'s(from the last two school years) new boy.

This one has lots of cute pinks and browns and some girlie John Deere fabric thrown in. It's the Road Trip? Tutorial on cluck cluck sew.
This one is made up of girlie flannel scraps. It's an idea that I'm working on in my head. This one could be for a boy. However I didn't notice some of the lines were a little off until I put it together. I made it using that HST tutorial I posted.
Oops. Forgot to turn the picture. Anyway this is a zig-zag girlie quilt made with that HST tutorial as well. I finally used those cute pigs I had in my fabric stash. Finally, here's Ava,Lee, and Madilyn getting ready to try out Ava's Birthday quilt and read a story.

Kelly and Tiff's Quilts

Hey ...

I just got the material for Kelly and Tiff's quilts!!! I'm going to have a hard time giving these away!! Even Dallas said I should have got more material to make us one too!! It's going to look great!!!

I love the that the quilt pattern is named: Breakfast at Tiffany's

This is the thread I bought to use on the quilts:
It's from Connecting Threads. I love this store ... they have some unique items and great prices.
This is what I'm making for me!!

I hope to have the quilting done tonight and then finish up the binding tomorrow. I'm excited to see what the red material will look like as binding!!

Its going to be great!! I might hang this on the wall in the bedroom or use it on the couch when its done!!

I bought the Wonder Cut Ruler. I am going to give it a try tomorrow!!

Check out the sale on batting @ Connecting Threads. If you want some, let me know. I will give you my USA address. You can ship it there and I'll run down to get it! Spend $50.00 to get free shipping!!

What have you been up to lately?

Twister Ruler

Hello ...

Cold enough for you? I am excited to tell you that I made a quilt using your Twister Ruler!!! It is so easy!!

Here's what you have to do:

1. Buy a layer cake (10" squares) or do what I did and cut 36 different 10" squares from random fat quarters that you have collected over the past few years.

2. Decide on a 6 x 6 layout for the 36 squares. Here's mine:

3. Then sew all the squares together and add a 6.5" border all the way around. It will look something like this:

4. Then take the ruler and cut out the squares following the instructions.

5. When you get all the new squares cut out, it will look something like this:

I love it!!! It was so easy to make too. Something you could get done from start to finish in a day if you used a layer cake instead of cutting your own out!! I am a little worried about sewing it together now that its all cut out ... I will have to use lots of concentration to make sure all the blocks stay in the correct order!!

I'm off to sew the top together!!
Have a good week!

Another Version of a Scrappy Quilt!

Good Morning,

As I was checking out Facebook this morning, I noticed that Fresh Lemons had a new post on her blog so I went and checked it out. She posted a list of various tutorials from across quilty land online. As soon as I saw this I thought of you! I have made an executive decision and I think we should make this one: Crossed Quilt Block. Here's the game plan: the next time we get together to sew, we can only bring our scrap bins and we have to complete this quilt top!! I have one very large quilt bin!! I did separate all those large pieces of material out of it ... might have to put them back!! I think this is a great way to use up all those narrow scraps!!

Check it out and let me know what you think!!
Happy Friday!

Subway Art

Hey ...

I have become addicted to Subway Art which I found on the Esty website. Once you start searching on the site, you can't stop!!!

Here are a couple that I have made using picnik!

I made this one to make into a shower gift. Might have to make this one for myself too!!

I think I could make myself 10 - 12 of these to put up in the apartment!!!

Cor's Wedding Quilt

Hey ...

I have the top done!!! Check it out:

Oh ... you can see my knees ... ooops!! The camera really distorts the colour on this quilt. I have the back figured out too!! I am going to do strips across the back horizontally. There will be one strip of the busy horses, then an orange strip, then a navy blue strip, then a yellow strip and then the plane horses. I will fill in the rest of the back with navy blue and bind it in the blue material that you sent down. It's a busy quilt and very bright!

I have no idea how to quilt it! Any ideas???
Happy Sewing ...

Esty website

Good Morning ...

I have been spending too much time on the Esty website. So much time that now I am thinking about selling quilts! Crazy ... I know!! I figure that I could start with baby quilts or maybe some table runners. Here are two baby quilts that I am making to sell!! Dallas thinks that I shouldn't have made them in white, which is probably true but I like it!!! I'm not done because I ran out of white material. I put the pieces that I have done on the back of the table cloth.

Check them out:
I'm going to bind this one with the same purple that the letters are done in. OH SHIT ... I forgot a "t" in attitude ... good thing these aren't ironed down yet!!! LOL!!

Here's the second one:
I'm going to bind it in the same blue as the letters are done in!!!

What do you think?

What have you been up to these days?

Procratination

Howdy,
so here's an easy pattern I found that would work good with scraps. Are you accomplishing anything or does procrastination have a hold of you as well?
